				  the wrong time display for files other than 128k CBR is now fixed.
				  I will just quote James to explain the limitations:

				  "Note:  I noticed the times displayed for VBR recordings aren't 100%
			 	   accurate.  The same numbers are reported by RioAudio Manager so its
				   the best that can be done.  This happens because the Rio500 only
				   uses the bit rate from one frame to calculate the time while VBR
				   MP3s can have a different bit rates for each frame."

				  Also, this will most probably also not work for audible.com content.


		Application:	- no changes, still the usual bugs. I have little time to devote to
				  RiOFXP at the moment. If anyone made some improvements based on the
				  2.3a or 2.4 source please send them to me :)

		COM Object:	- SPEED ! SPEED ! Improved up/downloading times to match the speed
				  of RioPort, so the last disadvantage of RioFXP is GONE.
				  Thanks to Ladislav Prosek <lpr@iol.cz> for writing the improved code
				  and sending it to me ! you rock !
				  IMHO this also nullifies the need for a progress bar .. not much
				  progress to be watched any more. ;)

				  thanks to paul for pointing these out .. how come
				  that noone else has noticed these ??? :)

				- added mp3 tag support. this is good is you want shorter
				  and nicer names in your Rio 500 Display.
				  thanks to midevice (1/4Bit) for the necessary input.

		COM Object:	- Fixed numerous bugs in SwapSong and RenameSong, plus added more
				  failsafe IOrequest routine (i hope)

		Application:	- changed some stuff again. check the tooltips of the new bars if you
				  like the numeric free space display
				- Added sanity checks on upload
				- fixed more bugs than i can remember
				- added more bugs
				- commented the source code (kinda)

		Distribution:	- finally packed it into a Windows installer.
				- rewrote the installation instructions in README.TXT (read it !)

		COM Object:	- implemented smart media support :)
				  try it and send feedback please ! i only tested it
				  with a 64 MB card.

		COM Object:	- finally FIXED the Win98 bug. Should now work for everyone.



08/01/2000	Released 1.7a	(quick fix to 1.7, also adds multiple file select support)

		COM Object:	- added another "brute force" OpenDriver() method
				  dunno if it helps for everyone yet

		Application:	- pretty much finalized the GUI. there won't be much more changes
				  to it, i will devote more time to the object now.
				  "Delete/Download File" now reads "Delete/Download Files". 
				  That means that multiselect is now in ! :)

				- added tooltips for everything and cleaned up control labels

		Distribution:	- major change ! I separated the DLLs pack from the main
				  distribution. Reason: takes 90% of the space but content
				  is always the same.

				  when building bitmaps for the Rio)
